# Removing the GE Dishwasher Top Rack
Over time, your GE dishwasher’s top dish rack may corrode and require replacement, or you may not like the loading style of the top rack. Whatever your reason for changing out your dishwasher racks, GE dishwasher dish racks are removable, and replacement racks are available for purchase. Removing the top dish rack only takes a few minutes, and removing it will allow you to replace or repair the dish rack.
Things You'll Need
- Flat-head screwdriver

Open the door on the GE dishwasher and lay it down.

Find the caps on both front ends of the roll track on the top rack.

Slide a flat-head screwdriver between the backside of the cap and the tab that is directly behind it.

Push the flat-head screwdriver back until the cap comes off.

Repeat Steps 3 and 4 to remove the cap on the other side.

Pull the top dish rack out from the GE dishwasher. The rack has wheels attached to the side’s of the rack that allow it to roll out. Once the caps are removed, the wheels are able to slide out of the track.
