How to Add Rinse Additives to GE Dishwashers

Most GE dishwashers have a compartment for a rinse aid that is by the dishwashing detergent compartment. Rinse aid helps to dry dishware and reduces watermarks on your dishes. The dishwasher uses a small amount of rinse aid toward the end of each wash during the drying process. Adding rinse aid to your GE dishwasher only takes a minute and it will last multiple washes.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the GE dishwasher door and allow it to lay open, flat.

    • 2

      Locate the “Rinse Aid” compartment.

    • 3

Unscrew the cover for the compartment by turning it counterclockwise with your hand.

    • 4

Pour the rinse aid into the compartment until you see the marker reads “Full.” If your GE model does not have a marker, keep an eye on the rinse aid as you are pouring it, and do not allow it to overflow. If it overflows, wipe up the spill immediately.
