How to Remove the Top Rack From a GE GSD1200G02 Dishwasher

When using your GE GSD1200G02 dishwasher over time you may need to remove the top or bottom racks to clean them or inspect them for damage. For example, if the top rack has a broken piece that is keeping you from loading the desired amount of dishes then you may need to fully replace the top rack part. In order remove the top rack from the unit you must also remove the white plastic caps that keep the rack connected to a metal bar.

      Open your GE dishwasher door and remove all of the dishes in the top and bottom racks.

      Pull out the top rack within the dishwasher as far as it will go, making sure not to tug too hard on the rack.

      Insert a flathead screwdriver into the plastic end cap on one side of the metal rail, then lift up to remove the cap.

      Insert the screwdriver into the second cap on the other side of the metal rail and remove it. Set both caps aside.

      Lift up on the top rack and then pull it out to completely remove it from the unit.
