Operating Instructions for a Ryobi Cultivator

Due to the advent of the two-cycle engine, farming tools like hoes and hand tillers are relics of the past. Ryobi, a company most known for manufacturing small hand-held power tools, also manufactures a wide line of lawn equipment. One such product is the Ryobi cultivator. The cultivator tills the soil in between rows of crops, utilizing a two-cycle gas engine.

Instructions

    • 1

Pour one gallon of regular unleaded gasoline and 4 ounces of Ryobi two-cycle oil in a clean gas can. Place the cap on the gas can and then shake the can slightly, to properly mix the fuel and oil. Once properly mixed, open the gas cap on your cultivator and add the gasoline, while tilting the cultivator in a horizontal position.

    • 2

Place the "ON/Off" stop control switch to the "ON" position.

    • 3

Press the primer bulb 5 to 7 times, slowly, to deliver gasoline into the carburetor. Do not push too many more times, or too quickly, as this can flood your engine.

    • 4

Set the choke lever to the full choke position.

    • 5

Squeeze the throttle and pull the starter rope 4 to 6 times or until the cultivator starts. If it does not start, set the choke to the half choke position.

    • 6

Lower the handlebars until the tines (or cultivator blades) meet the soil and begin tilling.
