How to Change the Blower in a Breckwell Pellet Stove

The combustion blower pulls the air through the air inlets, the burn pot and out the exhaust vent on the Breckwell pellet stove. If these areas become blocked, the pellets begin to burn poorly, and the blower could become damaged. A failed blower that causes the pellets to burn poorly, resulting in a dark, sooty flame and a burn pot filled with smoldering pellets. Should any of the these conditions exist in the stove, change the blower.

Instructions

    • 1

Disconnect your Breckwell pellet stove from the electric socket. The combustion blower requires electricity to operate.

    • 2

Take off the panel from the right side of the stove by removing the screws holding it to the stove body. This exposes the combustion blower.

    • 3

Vacuum the inside of the stove of any ashes and dust while you have it open. You may need to use a soft-bristled brush to loosen the dirt around the blower.

    • 4

Grab the two connectors that hold the blue and white wires to the combustion blower motor. Pull the wires from the blower’s terminals.

    • 5

Remove the screws holding the blower’s square vent opening to the exhaust duct. Remove the screws from the flange around the blower housing to the exhaust housing. Pull the old blower from the stove.

    • 6

Fit the new combustion blower’s square vent opening over the exhaust duct. Line up the screw holes on the flange around the new blower with the screw holes in the exhaust housing.

    • 7

Secure the blower housing to the exhaust housing with the screws you removed from the original blower. Attach the blower’s vent to the exhaust duct using the original screws.

    • 8

Push the wire connectors onto the new blower’s terminals. Replace the panel onto the stove, and plug the stove into the electrical socket.
