How to Make Bruleed Oatmeal

Ingredients:

* 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

* 1 ½ cups unsweetened almond milk

* ½ cup water

* ¼ cup agave syrup (or maple syrup)

* ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

* ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

* 1 egg yolk

* 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Instructions:

1.) Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

2.) In a medium saucepan, combine the oats, almond milk, water, agave syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

3.) Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, or until the oats are tender and the liquid has been absorbed.

4.) Remove from heat and stir in the egg yolk.

5.) Divide the oatmeal between four ramekins or custard cups.

6.) Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the tops of the oatmeal.

7.) Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the brown sugar has melted and is bubbling.

8.) Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Tips:

* For a richer custard, try using heavy cream instead of almond milk.

* Add your favorite toppings, such as fresh fruit, nuts, or granola.

* For a vegan version, omit the egg yolk and use a plant-based milk.
