How to Remove the Governor on My Lawnmower

The governor serves the same purpose on a small engine regardless of whether the engine is a lawnmower engine, chain saw, go-cart or something else. A governor is on the engine to prevent it from running too fast. Under ordinary circumstances, there is no reason to remove it. It is possible to gain more speed for the engine by removing the governor, but there is a danger of serious damage to the engine if you do remove it permanently. Removing a governor does not take long.
