Vacuum the microfiber sofa with an attachment for routine cleaning. For a deeper cleaning, rent a steam cleaner.
Look for a tag on one of the sofa cushions with a "W," "S" or "WS" on it. If it says "W," your microfiber suede sofa should be cleaned with a water-based solution. If it says "S," it should be cleaned with a solvent-based solution. If it says "WS," it can be cleaned with either.
Mix a small bucket of water with a few drops of mild soap. Add a cup of vinegar if your sofa smells. This is your water-based cleaning solution.
Put a rag in the cleaning fluid and wring it out. Run it over your whole sofa or any problem spots you want to clean, moistening it as it dries out. Use only a small amount of solution, since getting your sofa wet can damage it.
Buy a solvent-based cleaning solution, such as foaming upholstery cleaner, if your sofa cushion says "S." Use the solution according to the directions on the container.
Groom the sofa with a velvet carding brush or horsehair brush to reset the nap. The surface should look smooth and have no marks from the vacuum cleaner by the time you are done.
