Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the power to the room in which you are working.

    • 2

Unscrew the base of the existing light fixture with a screwdriver. Lower the light fixture and remove the wire nuts from the top of the wires. Remove the light fixture from the ceiling.

    • 3

Check the electrical box to determine if it can hold the weight of the Harbor Breeze fan. If the electrical box cannot hold the weight of the fan, replace it with one rated for a ceiling fan.

    • 4

Screw the fan mounting plate to the electrical box using a screwdriver and the included screws.

    • 5

Put the Harbor Breeze ceiling fan together per manufacturer instructions.

    • 6

Strip away a half-inch of the ends of the wires, located on the ceiling fan, using wire strippers.

    • 7

Connect the wiring of the fan to the wiring in the ceiling. Match the white wires and twist the ends of the wires together. Screw a wire nut over the top of the wire ends. Repeat these steps with the black wires, then connect the two green wires to the copper ground wire.

    • 8

Push the wiring up in to the electrical box. Lift the canopy of the fan into place and secure it with screws.

    • 9

Finish assembling the ceiling fan, then turn on the power to the ceiling fan.
