How to Make a Mid-Century Modern Inspired Fruit Basket

## Materials

- 3/4-inch plywood (two 2-foot by 4-foot sheets)

- 1-inch dowel (two 36-inch lengths)

- 1/4-inch wood screws

- Wood glue

- Sandpaper

- Stain or paint (optional)

Tools

- Saw

- Drill

- Sander

- Measuring tape

- Pencil

- Level

- Safety goggles

Instructions

1. Cut the plywood into the following pieces:

- 2 pieces 12 inches by 18 inches

- 2 pieces 12 inches by 6 inches

- 2 pieces 6 inches by 6 inches

2. Sand all of the pieces of plywood until they are smooth.

3. Stain or paint the plywood pieces if desired.

4. Assemble the basket by attaching the two 12-inch by 18-inch pieces to the two 6-inch by 6-inch pieces with wood glue and screws.

5. Attach the two 12-inch by 6-inch pieces to the sides of the basket with wood glue and screws.

6. Drill a 1/2-inch hole in the center of each 6-inch by 6-inch piece.

7. Insert the dowels into the holes and secure them in place with wood glue.

Your mid-century modern-inspired fruit basket is now complete!
