How to Make a Marshmallow-Topped Sweet Potato Casserole

### Ingredients

For the sweet potatoes:

- 3 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed

- 1/2 cup water

- 1/4 cup brown sugar

- 1/4 cup maple syrup

- 1/4 cup butter, melted

- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

For the topping:

- 1 cup mini marshmallows

- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)

- 1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional)

Instructions

1.) Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

2.) In a large pot, combine the sweet potatoes, water, brown sugar, maple syrup, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the sweet potatoes are tender.

3.) Drain the sweet potatoes and transfer them to a 9x13-inch baking dish.

4.) Sprinkle the marshmallows, pecans, shredded coconut, nuts, and shredded coconut over the sweet potatoes.

5.) Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the marshmallows are melted and golden brown.

6.) Serve immediately.
