• A good soil compound to plant cactus seeds in is an equal mix of clean sand, cactus compost and perlite. Cactus seeds grow better under humid conditions, but overly moist soils can create fungus or mold. An application of fungicide will protect the seedlings from fuzzy mold.

Identification

• A San Pedro cactus can grow to a height of 20 feet tall, with six to eight ribs poking out from the large cylindrical stem. White, sweet-scented flowers bloom from this cactus every July. It can be planted in a variety of conditions and can even thrive in colder environments.
