Pots containing milk or milk-based broths sometimes boil over, leaving a white mess. If you don't clean the spill right away, the heat from the burner will scald the milk and cause it to stick to your stovetop. Cleaning burnt milk from your stovetop is a process that involves the use of natural, inexpensive products that you may already have around your house.
Slide the burners out of their sockets and remove the drip pans from their places if your stove top has removable burners.
Place the burners and drip pans in a sink filled with equal parts hot water and white vinegar. Leave them to soak for 30 minutes.
Spray the burnt milk stain with undiluted white vinegar and allow the spray to soak in for 20 to 30 minutes.
Wet a cleaning sponge or cloth with vinegar or hot water. Dip the sponge or cloth into baking soda to have a mild abrasive cleaner.
Sponge away the residue from the burnt milk stain.
Wipe the area clean with a damp cloth. Dry it with a lint-free cloth.
Sponge the burner and drip pan if necessary and rinse them. Dry them before returning them to the stove.
