How to Install Window Vents

Some homeowners install window vents to help with circulation problems. These vents come in different sizes and styles. They often are custom-built when the size of a home's windows are not uniform. Measure your vents precisely to make sure they fit snugly inside the window frame. Install wood vents on your windows with wood screws. Screwing the wood vents inside the window frame makes maintenance or replacement of individual vents much easier.

Instructions

    • 1

Place snug-fitting wood window vents into the window frame from the inside of the house.

    • 2

Center them in a uniform manner in all the windows. Measure from the window frame and mark places for the edges of each vent.

    • 3

Fasten the vents into place with wood screws and the drill. Use as many screws as needed, but no more than necessary to make removal for maintenance easier. Keep the screws going in a straight line either horizontally or vertically.
