How to Clean Silk Pillows

Materials needed:

- Mild detergent

- White vinegar

- Cold water

- Clean, dry cloth

- Iron (optional)

Instructions:

1. Pre-treat stains. If there are any stains on the silk pillow, pre-treat them with a mild detergent and cold water. You can do this by dabbing the stain with a cloth dampened with the detergent solution, then rinsing it with cold water.

2. Hand-wash the silk pillow. Fill a sink or basin with cold water and add a small amount of mild detergent. Swish the pillow around in the water until it is thoroughly wetted. Then, gently rub the fabric together to loosen any dirt or grime.

3. Rinse the pillow thoroughly. Rinse the pillow in cold water until all of the detergent has been removed.

4. Add white vinegar to the water. Add 1/2 cup of white vinegar to the water and swish the pillow around to mix it in. This will help to remove any residual soap and brighten the color of the fabric.

5. Rinse the pillow again. Rinse the pillow thoroughly in cold water until all of the vinegar has been removed.

6. Dry the pillow. Gently squeeze out any excess water from the pillow. Then, lay the pillow flat on a clean, dry cloth to dry. You can also hang the pillow to dry if desired.

7. Iron the pillow. If desired, you can iron the pillow on a low heat setting. This will help to remove any wrinkles from the fabric.

Tips:

* Do not use bleach or any other harsh chemicals on silk fabric, as these can damage the fabric.

* If you are not comfortable hand-washing the silk pillow, you can take it to a dry cleaner.

* Silk pillows should be cleaned every few months, or more often if they are used frequently.

Following these instructions, you can keep your silk pillows clean and beautiful.
