Use a vacuum cleaner with a strong suction to thoroughly vacuum the entire surface of the pillow, including the seams and piping. If possible, place an old pantyhose over the end of the nozzle before vacuuming to prevent any dust or dirt from recirculating throughout the room. Vacuum for at least two minutes per pillow. Then vacuum your mattress the same way to remove any lice or eggs in that area as well.
Step 2: Seal the Pillow in a Sealed Bag for Two to Three Days
If your vacuum wasn't equipped with the pantyhose or the nozzle didn't completely get everything, this should clear out any leftover nits by preventing air flow that allows lice to live
Step 3: Toss Pillow in Dryer for Thirty Minutes on High Heat
The high heat will dehydrate and kill off all residual lice and nits that didn't meet their end inside a pillowcase or sealed plastic.
