## Gather the following materials:
* Fabric
* Thread
* Scissors
* Sewing machine
* Measuring tape
* Hem iron
1. Measure the area you want the canopy to cover.
2. Cut a piece of fabric that is twice the width and length of the desired canopy.
3. Fold the fabric in half lengthwise, wrong sides together.
4. Sew the two raw edges together, using a 1/2-inch seam allowance.
5. Turn the fabric right side out.
6. Press the fabric flat, making sure to press the seam open.
7. Fold the top edge of the fabric down 1 inch and press.
8. Fold the top edge down 1 inch again and press.
9. Sew the top edge in place, using a 1/4-inch seam allowance.
10. Repeat steps 7-9 for the bottom edge of the fabric.
11. Insert grommets into the top and bottom hems.
12. Hang the canopy from the desired structure.
* If the canopy is for outdoors use, seal the seams using a waterproof seam sealer.
* Add embellishments such as trim or tassels to the canopy edge, if desired.
