Determine the theme of your decorations. Think about your favorite candies, the color of your party or the holiday that you are designing for. For example, consider a peppermint-themed table for a Christmas party. Decorating with only pink-colored candies may be perfect for your child's birthday party if she loves the color pink.

Design a centerpiece using the candy of your choice. The Hostess with the Mostest blog suggests using Red Hots instead of water to fill a vase filled with roses. You can also fill up clear jars with candies that you are especially fond of. Stack candy canes around the perimeter of an existing bowl to make a centerpiece perfect for a Christmas party.

Line your table with a candy trim. The Martha Stewart website suggests cutting the elastic of candy necklaces to create long chains of candy necklaces to trim your table with. You can also glue small candies, like Skittles, M&Ms or Red Hots to the sides of your tablecloth to give it some extra decoration.

Create a candy buffet. Fill up different jars, boxes and plates with all different kinds of candies that fit in with your theme. Use ribbons to add a little extra decoration to the plates full of candy. Place the candy buffet table near your dining room table to add a little more of the candy theme to your party.
