* Bayberry wax or paraffin wax
* Wax Myrtle essential oil
* Candle wicks
* Candle molds
* A double boiler or heatproof bowl
* A spoon
* A thermometer
* Newspaper or wax paper
* Scissors
1. Prepare your workspace. Cover your work surface with newspaper or wax paper to protect it from wax spills.
2. Melt the wax. Place the wax in a double boiler or heatproof bowl set over simmering water. Stir the wax until it is completely melted.
3. Add the essential oil. Once the wax is melted, remove it from the heat and add the essential oil. Stir well to combine.
4. Pour the wax into the molds. Place the candle wicks in the center of the molds. Then, carefully pour the melted wax into the molds.
5. Let the candles cool and harden. Allow the candles to cool and harden for at least 24 hours before removing them from the molds.
6. Trim the wicks. Once the candles are hardened, trim the wicks to about 1/4 inch long.
7. Enjoy your candles! Your wax myrtle candles are now ready to enjoy.
* To make scented candles, you can add other essential oils besides wax myrtle. Some popular choices include lavender, rosemary, and peppermint.
* You can also add dried flowers or herbs to your candles for added fragrance and beauty.
* Be sure to use caution when working with hot wax.
* Always let candles cool and harden completely before moving or burning them.
