How to Bake a French Toast Casserole

Ingredients:

1 cup milk

3 eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 loaf (1 pound) French bread, cut into 1-inch cubes

1 cup fresh berries (such as blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries)

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup chopped nuts (such as almonds or pecans, optional)

Instructions:

1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

2) In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

3) Add the bread cubes to the bowl and stir to coat.

4) Pour the bread cubes into a 9x13 inch baking dish.

5) Scatter the berries, brown sugar, and nuts (if using) over the top.

6) Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the casserole is set.

7) Let cool slightly before serving.
