How to Bake Crispy Chicken Wings in the Oven (Not Fried!)

Crispy oven-baked chicken wings are a healthier alternative to traditionally fried chicken wings, without compromising on flavor. Here's how to make them:

Ingredients:

- Chicken wings (about 2 pounds/900 grams)

- Baking powder (1 tablespoon)

- Salt and pepper (to taste)

- Seasonings of your choice (e.g., garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, etc.)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the chicken wings:

- Separate the chicken wings at the joints into drumettes and flats.

- Remove any excess skin or visible fat.

- Pat the wings dry with paper towels to ensure they're dry.

2. Season the wings:

- In a large bowl, combine the baking powder, salt, pepper, and your desired seasonings.

- Add the chicken wings to the bowl and mix well to coat them evenly with the seasoning mixture.

3. Bake the wings:

- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

- Place the chicken wings on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they're not touching each other.

- Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until they're cooked through and crispy.

Tips:

- For extra crispy skin, you can broil the wings for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking.

- Toss the wings halfway through baking to ensure even cooking and crispiness.

- Baking time may vary depending on the size of the chicken wings. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the wings reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for safety.

- Experiment with different seasonings and sauces to create your own signature chicken wings.

- Serve the chicken wings with your favorite dipping sauces, such as ranch, blue cheese, or barbecue sauce.

Enjoy your healthier, oven-baked crispy chicken wings without compromising on that crave-worthy crunch!
