How to Install a Top Rack in a Whirlpool Dishwasher

Whirlpool dishwashers have two racks, designed to hold your dishes during the wash cycle. The racks are placed on top of each other in order to best make use of the space in the dishwasher. Both racks have wheels that allow you to easily pull the rack out of the dishwasher and push it back in for easy loading and unloading. The top rack also has a spray arm attached to the bottom of it. If at any time the top-rack spray arm or wheels require repair, you must remove the rack from the dishwasher. After the rack is removed, it is important to properly reinstall it into the dishwasher.

     Open the dishwasher door, and then fully extend the rack slides.

     Align the rear wheels on the rack with the channels in the rack slides, and then insert the wheels into the channels.

     Push the rack into the channels, and then align and insert the front wheels into the channels.

     Push the rack fully into the dishwasher.

   • 5

     Pull the rack slides out slightly so that they are accessible.

     Snap the rack stops into the front of each rack slide from the top.

     Push the rack and rack slides back into the dishwasher, and then close the dishwasher door.
