* Cardstock (in a variety of colors)
* Scissors
* Glue stick or tacky glue
* Skewer or thin dowel
* Ribbon (optional)
1. Cut the cardstock into 12 equal-sized rectangles.
2. Fold each rectangle in half lengthwise.
3. Unfold the rectangles and then fold each one in half widthwise.
4. Unfold the rectangles again and then fold each one in half diagonally from top left to bottom right.
5. Unfold the rectangles again and then fold each one in half diagonally from top right to bottom left.
6. Unfold the rectangles one last time and then cut each one in half along the crease from the top center to the bottom center.
7. Glue the 24 triangles created in Step 6 together along one long side, forming a fan shape.
8. Insert the skewer or dowel into the top of the fan, securing it in place with a dab of glue.
9. Add ribbon to the top of the fan for decoration, if desired.
* Use different colors of cardstock to create a more vibrant fan.
* You can also use patterned paper or scrapbook paper to make a unique fan.
* Add glitter, sequins, or other embellishments to the fan for extra flair.
