Step 2: Turn off the water supply to the toilet.
Locate the water supply valve behind the toilet. Turn the valve clockwise until the water is completely turned off.
Step 3: Flush the toilet and hold down the flush valve.
This will help to empty the toilet bowl and tank of water.
Step 4: Disconnect the water supply line from the fill valve.
Use the adjustable wrench to loosen the nuts that hold the water supply line to the fill valve.
Step 5: Remove the old flapper valve.
Use the Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the flapper valve in place. Lift the flapper valve out of the tank.
Step 6: Clean the toilet tank.
Use the toilet bowl brush to clean the toilet tank. Pay special attention to the area around the fill valve and flapper valve.
Step 7: Install the new flapper valve.
Place the new flapper valve in the tank. Make sure that the flapper valve is properly seated against the flush valve opening. Secure the flapper valve in place with the screws.
Step 8: Install the new fill valve.
Place the new fill valve in the tank. Hand-tighten the nuts that hold the fill valve in place.
Step 9: Reconnect the water supply line.
Use the adjustable wrench to reconnect the water supply line to the fill valve.
Step 10: Turn on the water supply to the toilet.
Turn the water supply valve counterclockwise until the water is turned on.
Step 11: Test the toilet.
Flush the toilet to make sure that the new flapper valve and fill valve are working properly.
