Husqvarna Chain Saw Engine Specifications

Husqvarna is a global power product manufacturer based in Sweden. The company manufactures walk-behind mowers, riding tractors, hedge trimmers, rotary saws, snow throwers and chainsaws, among other products. As of 2010, Husqvarna produces four types of chainsaws: homeowner, landowner, electric and pro. Each of these types is endowed with different engine specifications to suit the nature of their intended application. Specifications include, but are not limited to, displacement, horsepower and maximum power speed.
  1. 240

    • Husqvarna 240 e-series chainsaws are designed for homeowner use. Applications for which the saws are suited include pruning, light cutting and hobby woodwork. Engine displacement on the 240 is 38.2 cubic centimeters, or 2.3 cubic inches. Displacement is the volume of air displaced by all cylinders during one full sweep. The 240 engines are capable of producing two horsepower. The idle speed of the engine is 3000 rotations per minute, the maximum operating speed 9000 rotations per minute. Husqvarna homeowner 240 engines use a Zama W-33 carburetor and can store 0.14 points of gasoline and 0.09 pints of oil.

    450

    • The Husqvarna 450 is a landowner chainsaw designed for all-around use in light and heavy-duty applications. 450 chainsaw engines have a displacement of 50.2 cubic centimeters, or 3.06 cubic inches, and are capable of generating 3.2 horsepower. These engines have an idle speed of 2700 rotations per minute (rpm) and a maximum operable speed of 9600 rpm. The higher an engine's rpm, the more torque, or turning power, it is capable of generating. Torque is useful in chainsaws as it helps fuel the circular motion of the blade. The 450 chainsaws come factory equipped with a C1M/X5131 carburetor and a NGK BPMR7A spark plug.

    316E

    • The 316E is an electric chainsaw produced by Husqvarna. Electric chainsaws have low vibration and noise emission and are suited to light indoor and outdoor homework. Only two specifications are required for 316E chainsaw engines. These specifications are voltage and power rating, which describe respectively the number of volts a device is capable of handling and how many watts of output power that voltage will be converted into for operable use. The 316E is capable of converting a maximum of 110 volts into 1600 watts of output power.

    3120 XP

    • The Husqvarna 3120 XP chainsaw is a professional grade machine designed for extreme logging, portable sawmill and stump work. The 3120 XP engine has a displacement of 118.8 cubic centimeters, or 7.2 cubic inches, and has an output power of 8.4 horsepower. It has an idle speed of 2500 rpm and maximum operable speed of 9000 rpm. The fuel tank volume on the 3120 engine is 2.64 U.S. points, and the oil tank volume is 1.48 U.S. points. An adjustable flow oil pump allows manual modification of the level of oil injected into the air and fuel flow of the engine for various applications.
