How to Tune a Husqvarna 323L Trimmer

The Husqvarna 323L trimmer is among the top choices for professional landscapers because of its E-Tech high performance engine, straight shaft and versatile gear box that is designed for heavier, more rugged, commercial applications. Despite its solid reputation and durable build, the 323L needs regular maintenance. Part of that upkeep includes regular tuneups. Tuning your Husqvarna 323L takes approximately 30 minutes. Replacement spark plugs can be purchased at your local lawn care shop or retail home improvement store.

Instructions

    • 1

Pull the spark plug wire with a pair of needle-nose pliers. Remove the spark plug with a spark plug wrench.

    • 2

Adjust the gap for your replacement plug. The recommended electrode gap for your Husqvarna is 0.5 mm.

    • 3

Empty the fuel out of your trimmer's gas tank. Refill it with new, properly mixed fuel.

    • 4

Clean off the cooling system with a brush.

    • 5

Insert the screw T into the idle speed adjustment screw and turn it clockwise until the cutting attachment moves. Then turn it counterclockwise until rotation stops.

    • 6

Remove the air filter cover and take the air filter out. Submerge it in warm, soapy water. Make sure your filter is completely dry before you put it back in. If the air filter will not come reasonably clean, replace it with a new one.
