The sea provides artistic settings for painters and crafters to recreate. Far away places, undersea creatures and the adventures of sailing ships inspire artists toward seaworthy pieces. Among the most beloved icons of the sea is the faithful lighthouse. The lighthouse represents safety in rough weather. As a sea-inspired gift or token of safety, lighthouse crafts spruce up the lawn or decorate a fireplace as knickknack.

Instructions
Make a lighthouse for your lawn
1
Start with terra cotta pots.
Start with one large and one medium terra cotta pot. Turn them over, stack them with large pot on bottom.
2
Cement the medium pot to the large pot so you form the shape of a lighthouse. Let dry.
3
Paint to look like your favorite lighthouse.
Paint with acrylic paints to represent the lighthouse of your choice. Acrylic paints are waterproof when dry and come in a large variety of colors. You can use painters tape to paint on spirals or stripes. For the front of the lighthouse, paint a door and a few windows.
4
A lantern on top makes it a lighthouse.
Cement a lantern on top, such as a candle lantern, a battery operated lantern or even one of the emergency lanterns that flashes.
5
Add on decorations to the lighthouse with a hot glue gun such as starfish, plastic fish or seashells.
6
Find the perfect place in your garden or home to display your lighthouse. Surround it with some rocks around the bottom.
