Power off your Troy-Bilt Riding LWA lawn mower. Open the front hood, exposing the engine.
Disconnect the black, negative wire from the battery's side bolt. Use an open-end wrench and twist the bolt counterclockwise loosening and releasing the wire.
Push the deck height lever beside the driver's seat forward. Check under the mower deck for the guard shielding the belt. Remove each of the screws within this guard with a Phillips-head screwdriver.
Slide the belt away from the engine pulley now that the belt is loose.
Unfasten the bow tie clip from the power take-off cable using your hands, and then slide the cable out.
Push the deck height lever to its highest possible setting.
Turn the Troy-Bilt Riding LWA's front wheels to the left. Pull the cutting deck out from the mower’s right side and pull off the outer deck covers.
Use a socket wrench and loosen the idler pulley nuts along the center of the Troy-Bilt Riding LWA's removed mower deck. Do not take out these nuts, but ensure they are completely loose.
Pull the idler arm bracket out. The idler arm is located near the loosened idler pulley nuts. Removing this arm bracket releases the belt.
Pull the deck belt out.
Route the replacement deck belt along the same path as the old belt.
Reassemble your Troy-Bilt mower by following your disassembly steps in reverse.
