Instructions for a John Deere Weedwacker RCC 200

The John Deere RC 200 Weedwacker is useful in its ability to take down tall weeds and grasses that lawnmowers often miss. Most often, the RC 200 should work well around walkways, driveways and similar areas.

Instructions

    • 1

Mix the proper amount of gas and oil for the RC 200's two-cycle engine. A 40-to-1 ratio of gas to oil will give you the proper mixture. According to Proulan Pro, "mixing 3.2 oz. of two-cycle, air-cooled engine oil with 1 gallon of regular gas" is the proper ratio.

    • 2

Take the gas cap off the side of the RC 200. The cap screws off manually. Fill the gas tank with the gas and oil mixture.

    • 3

Check the trimming line at the bottom of the Weedwacker. The spool should be secured with a long-enough portion connected to the outer spinning wheel.

    • 4

Feed the engine with fuel. Press down on the rubber bulb several times to allow the fuel to move. Pressing more than five times may flood the engine.

    • 5

Pull the starter rope and handle back. Do this in a quick, but forceful, manner. Yank it back several times until you hear the engine kick over.

    • 6

Repeat Steps 4 and 5, if necessary. Any extensive problems may require the assistance of a repairman.

    • 7

Pass the trimmer back and forth along the areas where the weeds or tall grass is located. Keep the line near the bottom or mid-section of the weeds.

    • 8

Move over the weeds several times. Continue on to a new area once the weeds have been chopped down.
