How to Make Guacamole From Scratch

Guacamole is a delicious and versatile dip that can be enjoyed with chips, vegetables, or even tacos. It is also relatively easy to make at home, and following this recipe you can make a delicious batch of guacamole from scratch.

Ingredients:

- 3 ripe avocados

- 1/2 red onion, diced

- 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 2 tablespoons lime juice

- 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Avocados:

- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh with a spoon or fork. Place the avocado flesh in a bowl.

2. Mash the Avocados:

- Use a fork or potato masher to mash the avocados until you reach your desired consistency. You can choose to leave it a bit chunky or mash it until smooth and creamy.

3. Add Ingredients:

- Once the avocados are mashed, add the diced red onion, chopped cilantro, minced garlic, lime juice, and salt to the bowl.

4. Mix well:

- Use the fork or a spoon to mix the ingredients together until well combined. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt, lime juice, or cilantro to your preference.

5. Serve:

- Guacamole can be enjoyed immediately, but it tastes best when chilled. You can cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate it for at least an hour before serving.

Tips:

- For the best guacamole, use ripe but not overly ripe avocados. They should be firm but slightly soft when gently squeezed.

- If you want your guacamole to be spicy, you can add diced jalapenos or some hot sauce.

- Guacamole can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. When ready to serve, let it come to room temperature for about 15 minutes before enjoying.
