How to Learn Rosemary Varieties

Rosemary is a very aromatic herb. Two varieties of rosemary are known as upright and creeping. Rosmarinis officinalis refers to the upright variety of rosemary, and Rosmarinis officinalis prostrates refers to the creeping variety. This herb is found in many gardens as ground cover, and both varieties can be eaten.

      Identify Arp rosemary as cold-hearty rosemary that can withstand below freezing temperatures. Arp rosemary takes its name from the Texas town where it was first identified. This herb has light blue flowers and grows to about 3 feet.

      Learn about Pink rosemary. This variety has the thinnest leaves of all rosemary varieties. Pink rosemary grows to 3 feet and exhibits very pale, almost pink blossoms.
