How to Make Hawaiian Ahi Poke Appetizer

### Ingredients

* 1 pound ahi tuna, sushi-grade, cut into 1/2-inch cubes

* 1/4 cup soy sauce

* 1/4 cup rice vinegar

* 1 tablespoon sesame oil

* 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

* 1/2 teaspoon chopped garlic

* 1/4 teaspoon salt

* 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

* 1/2 cup chopped green onions

* 1/4 cup chopped cilantro

* 1/4 cup chopped red onion

* 1/4 cup chopped avocado

* 1 tablespoon macadamia nuts, toasted and chopped

* Wonton chips or crackers, for serving

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine the tuna, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well to coat the tuna.

2. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.

3. When ready to serve, add the green onions, cilantro, red onion, avocado, and macadamia nuts to the tuna. Mix well to combine.

4. Serve immediately with wonton chips or crackers.

Tips

* To ensure that your ahi tuna is sushi-grade, look for fish that is bright red in color and has a firm texture.

* If you can't find sushi-grade ahi tuna, you can also use another type of firm fish, such as salmon or yellowfin tuna.

* Be sure to marinate the tuna for at least 30 minutes before serving, so that it has time to absorb the flavors of the marinade.

* Ahi poke is a versatile appetizer that can be customized to your liking. Feel free to add or omit any ingredients that you don't like.

* Serve ahi poke with your favorite wonton chips or crackers. You can also serve it with rice or salad.
