How to Make Apple Cinnamon Potpourri

Making apple cinnamon potpourri fills your home with delightful autumn aromas. Here's a simple guide:

Ingredients:

- 2 cups dried apple slices (or fresh, thinly sliced apples)

- 2 cinnamon sticks

- 2 tablespoons whole cloves

- 1/2 cup dried cranberries (optional)

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C).

2. Prepare Apples: If using fresh apples, wash and slice them thinly (you can leave the skin on). Arrange the apple slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet. If using dried apples, skip this step.

3. Add Spices: Place the cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, and dried cranberries (if using) on the baking sheet with the apple slices.

4. Bake: Bake the mixture in the preheated oven for about 2 hours or until the apples are dried and fragrant.

5. Add Vanilla (Optional): Once the potpourri has cooled, add the vanilla extract (optional) to enhance the aroma.

6. Store: Let the potpourri cool completely before storing in an airtight container at room temperature.

7. Enjoy: Place a small bowl or sachet filled with the potpourri in your living room, bedroom, or any desired area to release the autumnal fragrance.

Tips:

- You can use a variety of dried fruits and spices to customize your potpourri blend. Consider adding orange peels for a citrusy touch or star anise for a warmer aroma.

- To refresh the scent, gently stir the potpourri every few days.

- If you prefer a more intense scent, you can add a few drops of apple cinnamon essential oil to the mixture before storing it.
