How to Make Pear Nectar

Ingredients:

* 5 pounds of ripe pears, peeled and cored

* 2 cups of water

* 1 cup of sugar

* 1/4 cup of lemon juice

Instructions:

1. Combine the pears, water, sugar, and lemon juice in a large pot. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the pears are soft.

2. Remove the pot from the heat and let cool slightly.

3. Pour the mixture into a blender and puree until smooth.

4. Strain the puree through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean pot. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, or until thickened.

5. Remove the pot from the heat and let cool completely.

6. Bottle the nectar in sterilized jars and refrigerate. It will keep for up to 2 weeks.

Tips:

* For a sweeter nectar, add more sugar.

* For a more tart nectar, add more lemon juice.

* You can also add other fruits to the nectar, such as apples, peaches, or plums.

* Nectar is a great way to use up ripe fruit that you might otherwise throw away. It's also a healthy and refreshing drink that you can enjoy all summer long.
