How to Start a Cockscomb Seed

Cockscomb, an annual plant that prefers warm weather, takes its name from its showy and colorful blooms that look like a rooster's comb. Cockscomb is also called Celosia, and the plant shows off its red, pink and purple flowers throughout summer and well into the early days of fall. Cockscomb plants grow best in USDA Hardiness Zones 10 through 12. To germinate the seeds, put them in a warm place and keep them damp.
