How to Get Spray Paint Off the Couch

Spray paint is a pungent liquid that can stain any type of fabric, including on couches, if not used cautiously. If you have a spray paint stain on the couch, it's crucial to clean it up as soon as possible after the stain occurs so you can completely lift it out. A few simple household products like liquid detergent and rubbing alcohol can help break apart the stain and allow it to be lifted away.

Instructions

    • 1

Cover the affected area with some heavy-duty liquid detergent.

    • 2

Add a little bit of hot water over the detergent, and allow the stain to soak for three minutes.

    • 3

Soak up as much of the excess moisture as you can using a dry rag. Blot the stain instead of rubbing it to avoid making the stain worse.

    • 4

Add some rubbing alcohol over what remains of the stain, and allow it to fully penetrate for another three minutes.

    • 5

Blot the rubbing alcohol out of the couch using a clean towel. Allow it to air-dry.
