How to Remove Soap Scum From a Cast Iron Grate on a Stove Top

Some stove tops feature the addition of a cast iron grate for the purpose of "grilling" various types of foods. Cast iron is a material that is commonly used for such products as frying pans. This material is sturdy, stick-resistant and conducts heat evenly. However, if you don't clean cast iron properly, you may end up with soap scum on your grate. Remove soap scum stains from cast iron by using a cleaning technique that is effective and yet preserves the qualities of the cast iron surface.
