How to Decoupage Fabric

Supplies Needed:

- Fabric that you want to decoupage

- Decorative paper with the desired pattern

- Scissors or a cutting tool

- Decoupage medium or craft glue

- Brush

- Acrylic sealer

Steps:

1. Choose a fabric. The best fabric for decoupage are natural fabrics, such as cotton and linen. Avoid synthetic fabrics, as they are more difficult to decoupage.

2. Prepare the fabric. Wash and iron the fabric to prepare it for decoupage.

3. Choose your decorative paper. You can use any type of decorative paper, such as patterned paper, scrapbooking paper, or even old book pages.

4. Cut out the desired image from the decorative paper. Use scissors or a cutting tool to carefully cut out the image that you want to decoupage onto the fabric.

5. Apply a layer of decoupage medium to the back of the cut-out image. Use a brush to apply a layer of decoupage medium to the entire surface of the image.

6. Position the image on the fabric and smooth it out. Carefully position the image on the fabric and use your fingers or a ruler to smooth out any bubbles or wrinkles.

7. Apply another layer of decoupage medium to the top of the image. Once the image is in place, apply another layer of decoupage medium to the entire surface of the image.

8. Let the decoupage medium dry. Allow the decoupage medium to dry completely according to the instructions on the packaging. This can take several hours or overnight.

9. Apply a coat of acrylic sealer to the decoupaged fabric. Once the decoupage medium is dry, apply a coat of acrylic sealer to the entire surface of the fabric. This will help to protect the decoupaged fabric from wear and tear.

10. Enjoy your decoupaged fabric! You can use your decoupaged fabric to make a variety of projects, such as clothing, pillows, and home decor.
