How to Get Fuzz Off a Peacoat

A pea coat is a short, hip-length wool coat with double rows of large buttons and is reminiscent of the coats sailors used to wear. Pea coats are traditionally navy blue or black, but are now available in other colors such as red, white and cream. Like most wool clothing, a pea coat is susceptible to small fuzz balls, better known as pilling, which you can easily remove with the right tools.

Instructions

    • 1

Roll the pea coat with a lint roller to remove fuzz. The sticky side of masking tape also works well.

    • 2

Snip off each fuzz with a small pair of scissors. This works well if there are only a few fuzz balls on the pea coat.

    • 3

Shave the pea coat with a sweater shaver, available in many retail stores that sell laundry products, small household appliances and clothing. Use per manufacturer directions.
