How to Remove Fish Odors From an Oven

While baked fish is a healthy meal that is low on fat and high in protein, you may discover a lingering fishy odor even after you have put away the fish. Oily fish leave behind particularly fishy odors that can stick around for a few days. If you have recently made fish and need to get rid of the fishy smell, take action to freshen up your oven and kitchen.

      Turn the oven to its lowest heat setting.

      Fill a baking pan with 1 inch of water.

      Add a small amount of lemon juice until the water smells strongly of lemon.

      Place the baking pan into the heated oven.

      Leave the baking pan in the oven for an hour, checking periodically to ensure the water hasn't completely evaporated.

      Remove the pan from the oven. At this point, the smell should be gone.
