# How to Get Pen Ink Off of Vinyl
Many parents have experienced the gasp of surprise that comes when noticing a long pen mark along the side of the new vinyl couch or along the top of the vinyl covering on the kitchen or coffee table. At first you may think that your favorite piece of furniture is ruined and will need to be replaced, but it is possible to get pen ink out of vinyl by using a few household cleaners and a soft cloth.
Things You'll Need
- All-purpose cleaning solution
- Ammonia
- Clean, soft cloth
- Spray bottle

Apply or spray an all-purpose cleaner on the stain.

Wipe the stain with a soft cloth. Do not rub the stain roughly. Gently scrub at the stain.

Repeat by spraying cleaner on the stain and gently rubbing again.

Pour some household ammonia on a clean cloth and place the cloth on the stain. Allow the cloth to sit for one to two minutes.

Dab at the stain with the cloth until the pen mark is gone.

Mix water and mild soap together in a bowl and use a clean cloth to wipe off and clean the stained area.
