Instructions:
1. Measure the length of pipe that you need.
2. Cut the pipe to the desired length using a utility knife.
3. Apply a thin layer of PVC primer to the inside of the pipe and to the outside of the fitting (if required by your instructions).
4. Apply a thin layer of PVC cement to the inside of the pipe and to the outside of the fitting.
5. Insert the pipe into the fitting, turning it a quarter-turn to ensure even distribution of the cement.
6. Hold the pipe and fitting in place for a few seconds to allow the cement to set.
7. Repeat steps 3-6 for any additional pipes or fittings that you need to connect.
Tips:
- Work in a well-ventilated area.
- Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes.
- Be sure to use the correct type of PVC primer and cement for your application.
- If you get PVC cement on your skin, wash it off immediately with soap and water.
- Allow the PVC cement to dry completely before moving the pipes or fittings.
Troubleshooting:
- If the pipe and fitting do not fit together easily, you may need to ream the inside of the pipe.
- If the PVC cement does not hold, you may need to apply more primer and cement.
- If the PVC cement has dried and you need to reposition a pipe or fitting, you can heat the cement with a heat gun until it becomes liquid again.
