- Wood planks (your desired length and thickness)
- Wood stain or paint (optional)
- Screws
- Wall anchors
- Bracket
Tools:
- Saw
- Drill
- Sander
- Level
- Measuring tape
- Pencil
- Safety glasses
- Gloves
- Wood filler
Instructions:
1. Prepare your wood: Cut the wood planks to your desired length and width. If you want to stain or paint your shelves, do so now. Sand the wood to smooth out any rough edges.
2. Mark the locations of your brackets: Use the level to mark where your brackets will be mounted on the wall. Make sure the marks are evenly spaced.
3. Drill holes for your brackets: Drill holes at the marks you made for the brackets.
4. Install the wall anchors: Hammer the wall anchors into the holes.
5. Mount the brackets: Fasten the brackets to the wall using screws. Make sure the brackets are securely attached.
6. Attach the wood planks to the brackets: Place the wood planks on top of the brackets. Fasten the wood planks to the brackets using screws.
7. Fill in any gaps: Use wood filler to fill in any gaps between the wood planks and the wall. Sand over the wood filler until the surface is smooth.
Tips:
- Use a saw guide to make sure your cuts are straight.
- When drilling holes for your brackets, make sure to use a drill bit that is the same size as the screws you will be using.
- Be careful not to over-tighten the screws when mounting the brackets and the wood planks.
- If you are using any electrical tools, always wear safety glasses and gloves to protect yourself.
