* 2 pieces of 1x4 pine, each 8 inches long
* 1 piece of 1x2 pine, 4 inches long
* Wood glue
* Clamps
* Sandpaper
* Paint or stain (optional)
1. Cut the 1x4 pine boards to the following lengths:
* 2 pieces at 8 inches long
* 1 piece at 4 inches long
2. Cut the 1x2 pine board to the following length:
* 1 piece at 4 inches long
3. Apply wood glue to the ends of the 4-inch long 1x4 pine board.
Align the glued ends with the centers of the two 8-inch long 1x4 pine boards, and clamp them together.
4. Allow the glue to dry for at least 30 minutes, or according to the package directions.
5. Once the glue is dry, remove the clamps and sand the cross to smooth out any rough edges.
6. Apply paint or stain to the cross if desired.
7. Display the cross as a reminder of Easter!
* If you don't have a saw, you can also purchase pre-cut lumber from a home improvement store.
* Be sure to sand the cross thoroughly before painting or staining it.
* You can add a personal touch to the cross by writing a message of hope or inspiration on it.
