- (8) 1x6 pine boards (8 feet long)
- 1 inch brad nails
- Wood screws (1 1/4 inch)
- Measuring tape
- Level
- Pencil
- Saw
- Sander
1. Cut the 1x6 pine boards to the following lengths:
- (4) 24 inches long
- (4) 48 inches long
2. Sand the boards smooth.
3. Assemble the frame of the growth chart by attaching the four 24-inch boards to the four 48-inch boards with 1 inch brad nails. The 24-inch boards should be placed at the top, bottom, and sides of the frame, with the 48-inch boards forming the center.
4. Reinforce the frame by attaching wood screws at each joint.
5. Use a measuring tape and pencil to mark inch marks along the center of the growth chart. Start at the bottom of the chart and work your way up, making marks every inch.
6. Use a level to make sure the marks are straight.
7. Hang the growth chart on the wall at a height that is easy for children to reach.
