Tools:
1. Broom and dustpan
2. Shovel
3. Rake
4. Wheelbarrow (for larger piles)
Steps:
1. Sweep loose chips: Use the broom to sweep up loose chips and collect them in the dustpan. Empty the dustpan into a trash bag or compost pile.
2. Shovel larger chips: Use the shovel to scoop larger chips into the wheelbarrow. If there's no wheelbarrow, you can carry them in buckets or bags.
3. Rake: After removing most of the chips with the shovel, use the rake to gather any remaining scattered chips.
4. Dispose: Dispose of the wood chips in the appropriate manner, such as a trash bin or compost pile.
If the wood chips are on a grassy area or in a garden bed, here's how to remove them:
1. Leaf blower: Use a leaf blower to blow the chips away from plants and structures.
2. Rake: Once most are removed, use a rake to gather the remaining chips and dispose of them properly.
3. Handpicking: For smaller areas or if you don't have a leaf blower, you may need to handpick the chips.
Wood chips can also be used as mulch in gardens or as fuel for a wood-burning stove or fireplace. Consider these options before discarding them.
