How to Fix a Weiser Front Doorknob

* Phillips head screwdriver

* Flat head screwdriver

* New Weiser front doorknob

*Deadbolt strike

* Measuring tape

*Level

Instructions

1. Remove the old doorknob.

- Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the two screws that hold the doorknob in place.

- Pull the doorknob off of the spindle and set it aside.

2. Remove the latch assembly.

- Use a flat head screwdriver to pry off the latch cover.

- Remove the two screws that hold the latch assembly in place and pull it out of the door.

3. Install the new latch assembly

- Hold the latch assembly up to the door and mark the location of the screw holes.

- Drill pilot holes for the screws and then drive the screws in to secure the latch assembly.

- Attach the the deadbolt strike to the door jamb

4. Install the new doorknob.

- Hold the doorknob up to the door and mark the location of the screw holes.

- Drill pilot holes for the screws and then drive the screws in to secure the doorknob.

- Attach the doorknob to the spindle and secure it in place with the screws.

5. Test the doorknob.

- Open and close the door to make sure that the doorknob works properly.

- If the doorknob is loose, tighten the screws until it is secure.

-If the doorknob is not centered, use a level to adjust its position.
