Cut the vinyl wallpaper 4 to 6 inches longer than the height of your wall, using scissors. Do this after you have determined where you want the pattern to fall on the wall. The extra 4 to 6 inches will allow you to trim the paper and match the pattern.

Hang the wallpaper, carefully matching the pattern, and cut off excess at the ceiling and floor, using scissors. Scissors do a good of cutting vinyl wallpaper, but for a final, neat trim you will need a razor blade knife.

Press a paint scraper against the vinyl wallpaper to create a straight line and run a razor blade knife along the edge of the paint scraper to trim the vinyl wallpaper to exact size. Change the razor blade frequently, as a dull blade will tear the wallpaper.
