How to Remove Wallpaper with Vinegar

Removing wallpaper with vinegar is an eco-friendly and effective method that doesn't require harsh chemicals. Here's how to do it:

1. Prepare solution: Mix equal parts of white vinegar and warm water in a spray bottle.

2. Wet the wallpaper: Spray a section of the wallpaper heavily with the vinegar solution, ensuring it's thoroughly saturated.

3. Let it soak: Allow the solution to penetrate the wallpaper for 15-20 minutes.

4. Scrape the paper: Using a wallpaper scraper or putty knife, gently scrape the moistened wallpaper from the wall. Start from a corner and work your way down.

5. Repeat: Continue spraying and scraping section by section until all the wallpaper is removed.

6. Clean the surface: Use a damp cloth to wipe down the wall surface and remove any remaining residue.

7. Neutralize the vinegar: Since vinegar can be acidic, it's essential to neutralize it to protect your walls. Mix a solution of 1 teaspoon of baking soda with 1 cup of warm water and wipe the wall with the mixture.

8. Let it dry: Allow the walls to dry completely before redecorating or repainting.

Vinegar is generally safe for most types of wallpaper, but it's always best to test a small area first to make sure it doesn't damage the surface.
