Paint the cement. Select a concrete-compatible paint in a color or a combination of colors that suit your taste or coordinate with the colors of your home. For a neutral look, paint the entire porch a neutral color, such as brown or tan. For a bolder look, choose more vivid paint colors; for example, paint the surface of the porch teal and the stairs and sides burgundy.
Cover the deck with stone or brick veneers. Veneers are easier to install and less expensive than the traditional materials they mimic, yet they offer the same appeal as the traditional materials. For a traditional look, select brick veneers; for a rustic look, opt for stone veneers.
Tile your cement porch. Choose a tile that is durable and slip resistant, such as slate. Select tiles that are all one color and shape for a uniform look, or use different colored and shaped tiles for a more artistic and natural looking porch.
Install wood planks over the cement porch. Use natural wood planks, and stain them in a color that suits your taste. Alternatively, use fabricated wood material for a more cost-effective option.
Stamp the concrete. Lay a fresh surface of concrete over the existing concrete and have it stamped to resemble brick, stone or tiles.
